BetMGM Sportsbook Offering ‘Title Town Special’ On New England Sports Teams

BetMGM Sportsbook has always been great for putting out unique lines and odds. This is especially true regarding special bets covering more than one sport or event.

Boston has been affectionately known as “Title Town” to Massachusetts bettors. The stake to this claim is pretty fair. Since 2000, Boston has had four World Series championships, one NBA championship, one Stanley Cup, and six Super Bowl championships as a city. That makes BetMGMs New England special, where just one of the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, or Patriots have to win their respective league championship, a very enticing bet. With odds of +340, users need one Boston team to win it all to make $340 on a $100 bet.

BetMGM Massachusetts Teams Championship Odds:

  • Boston Red Sox +25000
  • Boston Celtics +500 (NBA Favorite)
  • Boston Bruins +2800
  • New England Patriots +4000

Looking at the championship odds above, three of the four Massachusetts teams are in the top half of their league’s championship odds. That includes the Celtics, who currently sit as BetMGM’s NBA title favorite. This comes just after a season that saw the Celtics lose in the NBA Finals but improve quite a bit in the off-season.

Likelihood of a Massachusetts Team Winning a Championship

As with any bet, there is an inherent risk, but the odds for this one seem pretty favorable. The Celtics sit at +500 to win the NBA championship. With that said to be able to a couple in three others teams and needing only one to win it all seems like a great deal.

Considering that the odds sit at +340 and the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots are in the top half of their league, this bet is a solid value.

Hockey, possibly more than any other of the four major American sports, has routinely seen underdogs and even low-seeded teams not just compete but win Lord Stanley. A few years ago, the Vegas Golden Knights, an expansion team, made the Stanley Cup Final. The St Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019 after sitting in the cellar of the NHL standings in January. The Bruins have the talent, and if they stay healthy, they stand a solid chance of being competitive in the playoffs.

The Patriots are a team no one should overlook as long as Bill Belichick is the man in charge. Would you ever feel comfortable betting against Belichick in the playoffs? I think we all know that answer, and especially with Mac Jones looking like the franchise’s future, it would not be shocking to see him grab a Super Bowl early in his career, just like his predecessor Tom Brady.

Placing the New England Special Bet

For now, Massachusetts bettors would need to drive to New York, New Jersey, or be located in any state where BetMGM Sportsbook is live to place the bet at the moment. However, it does appear that the chance to place the bet in Massachusetts is coming soon.

The Massachusetts sports betting bill has been passed legislatively and signed by the Governor. Sports betting providers are waiting for the green light to launch in Massachusetts. All signs are suggesting that big-name providers like BetMGM will be able to go live later this year or early in 2023.

Once that happens, we expect this ‘Title Town Special,’ as well as other Massachusetts-based promos, to be available to Massachusetts bettors.
