Red Sox Getting 42% Of World Series Bets At BetMGM In Massachusetts

In Massachusetts, the Boston Red Sox are capturing 42% of the MLB World Series winner futures bets placed at BetMGM. Additionally, they are also attracting 41% of the total World Series futures handle in the state.
On Monday, John Ewing, a data analyst at BetMGM PR, shared the Massachusetts numbers with Play MA, revealing this information.
Due to the high number of Red Sox wagers in Massachusetts, Boston currently poses the largest risk for BetMGM across the country. Despite having the 12th-lowest odds for winning the World Series in MLB (+6000), the Red Sox have the seventh-highest percentage of bets placed and the eighth-highest percentage of total bets on the app.
Thanks to the legalization of online sports betting in Massachusetts, Boston is only receiving 4.8% of total World Series winner futures bets and 5.9% of the handle, as mentioned earlier with the 42% and 41% figures.
Where do Boston’s World Series odds stack up?
At BetMGM, the American League East teams’ chances of winning the World Series are ranked accordingly: The Red Sox hold the fourth-best odds, with the Yankees leading the pack at +800, sharing the third-best odds in all of baseball with the Dodgers. Following them are the Blue Jays at +1200 and the Rays at +2000. Lastly, the Orioles have the least favorable odds in the AL East, sitting at +6600 on BetMGM Massachusetts.
BetMGM reveals that the Mets have secured the highest percentage of total bets (9.4%) and total handle (13.7%) among all teams. They currently share the fifth-best odds in the league, alongside the Padres, at +900. In terms of overall betting activity, the Padres rank second in total bets, while the Yankees rank second in total handle, solidifying their positions in the top three.

When it comes to individual awards odds at BetMGM, Boston performs slightly better.
Masataka Yoshida, the Japanese sensation signed by Boston for a whopping $90 million over five years, is currently leading the way in ticket percentage (28.1%) and betting handle (27.6%) for American League Rookie of the Year futures on BetMGM.
Yoshida is currently ranked second with +600 odds for the AL Rookie of the Year award. The favorite for this title is Gunnar Henderson, a third baseman from Baltimore, with odds of +250.
