DraftKings To Celebrate MA Online Launch Outside Boston Headquarters

To commemorate the initiation of online sports betting in Massachusetts, DraftKings plans to host a celebratory event outside their Boston headquarters located at 500 Boylston St. in Back Bay.

On March 10, at 10 a.m. ET, MA online sports betting will be deemed officially prohibited. Concurrently, DraftKings has arranged a special event to commemorate the first bet. Brian Scalabrine, a cherished former Boston Celtic and current broadcaster, along with DraftKings’ co-founders Jason Robin, Matt Kalish, and Paul Liberman, will be in attendance. Several Massachusetts lawmakers will also join the occasion.

In order to join the celebration, the sportsbook based in Boston will also have a specially designed Duck Boat inspired by DraftKings.

Can DraftKings win big in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts is set to become DraftKings’ 20th legal state in the US, which is undeniably a significant milestone for the company. However, FanDuel has emerged as the dominant player in the US sports betting market, solidifying its position as the clear leader. According to their 2022 investors presentation, FanDuel disclosed that it controlled a remarkable 50% of the US sports betting market during the fourth quarter, an astonishing achievement.

However, if DraftKings has a chance to be the top competitor in any state instead of being the second-best, it would be Massachusetts – the state where it originated.

Massachusetts athletes and celebrities have been enlisted by DraftKings to support their mission. The Super Bowl commercial of the sportsbook featured the iconic Red Sox player and Hall of Famer, David Ortiz, who shared the screen with Kevin Hart. Additionally, on March 10, DraftKings will broadcast a commercial in Massachusetts featuring Ortiz, Scalabrine, Boston Bruins legend Zdeno Chara, Olympic gold medalist and Massachusetts native Aly Raisman, and others.

Expected welcome promo offer in MA

DraftKings Massachusetts is anticipated to provide a generous welcome promotion for new bettors in MA. As part of this two-part offer, new customers in the Commonwealth will receive a 20% deposit match up to $1,000, subject to a 5x playthrough requirement. Additionally, if they deposit $5 or more, they will also be rewarded with a $50 bonus bet.

On Friday, six Massachusetts sportsbook apps are set to launch, including DraftKings. The remaining five apps are:
