Betr has now launched its real money gaming product in Massachusetts, per a Thursday release from the company.

Founded by sports betting veteran Joey Levy and social media giant Jake Paul, Betr is the world’s first app focused on microbetting.

Sports betting apps in Massachusetts launched in March, and Betr is the seventh online operator to enter the market.

The launch of Betr Massachusetts gives the company its second statewide launch this year, as the app previously launched in Ohio on Jan. 1.

“We are thrilled to launch Betr Betting in Massachusetts, home of some of the world’s greatest sports franchises and fans,” Levy said in the release.

“We will be just the 7th operator to enter the state, only trailing FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, WynnBet, and Barstool to market. Not bad for a company that launched less than a year ago with vastly fewer resources than pretty much all industry incumbents. We would like to thank the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for their partnership and we are excited to introduce Betr to the Commonwealth’s top notch sports ecosystem.”

In addition to Massachusetts and Ohio, Betr has plans to launch its real money gaming product in additional states over the coming months.

In Massachusetts, now that Betr is live, the next operators planning Massachusetts launches include Fanatics and Bally Bet.

What is Betr?

Betr is new to the sports betting scene. It was founded in 2022 by Joey Levy and Jake Paul.

Betr is the first microbetting-focused gaming company that is pioneering a new way for fans to engage with sports.

But what is microbetting?

In short, microbetting allows users to bet on individual plays and events — such as pass or rush on the next play in football or the outcome of the next pitch in baseball — rather than the outcome of the game as a whole.

The app is sleek and features an easy-to-use interface. Finding the event you want to bet on only takes a couple of seconds.

Since publicly launching its brand in August 2022, Betr has grown its aggregate following from 0 to over 1.4 million while generating over 1.1 billion impressions and 61.3 million engagements across its social channels.

The company plans to use social media to its advantage. In addition to Paul’s large social media presence, it’s forming ties to other social media stars as well. Ahead of its Massachusetts launch, Betr signed Haley and Hanna Cavinder to an exclusive media partnership.

Betr also soft launching Scripts in Massachusetts

Betr is also soft launching its Scripts product in Massachusetts this week. A Script is essentially the microbetting version of a parlay. According to Betr, its Scripts feature “combines the instant gratification of a microbet with the long odds of a parlay. This product is a first-of-its-kind experience and effectively introduces instant gratification to parlays, which may make Scripts one of the primary ways fans bet on sports over time.”
