Betr to become 7th online operator in MA, from play-ma.com

Micro-betting platform Betr will go live in Massachusetts on Monday night. It will be the seventh online sports betting operator in the Commonwealth.

The Massachusetts launch gives Betr its second statewide launch since its founding last year. The app previously launched in Ohio on Jan. 1.

The platform put together a soft launch in Massachusetts last week, and is now ready to fully enter the Massachusetts sports betting scene.

Betr launching in Massachusetts

After completing a few last-minute preliminary tests, Betr will go live in Massachusetts on Monday night.

The announcement of the launch was made by Bruce Band, Director of Sports Betting for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission during Monday’s MGC meeting.

Right now, Betr Massachusetts is operating with a temporary license, which will stay in effect for one year. Soon, the company will need to secure a permanent license to continue operating in the state after that one year is up.

Betr is one of 10 mobile sports betting apps to receive licensure to operate in Massachusetts. Six launched on March 10: DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, WynnBET and Barstool Sportsbook.

Betr will be the seventh online operator in the state. Three other platforms — Bally Bet, Betway and Fanatics Sportsbook — are next in line.

Fanatics Sportsbook launching next week

During Monday’s MGC meeting, it was also revealed that Fanatics Sportsbook is expected to launch in Massachusetts some time next week. That’s earlier than the June estimate provided to Play MA last week.

Fanatics Betting and Gaming CEO Matt King is a key note speaker May 10 at the SBC Summit North America in New Jersey.

Perhaps he’ll reveal a specific date then.

What is Betr?

Betr is a sportsbook app co-founded by social media giant Jake Paul. It specializes in an unparalleled micro-betting experience, making every single play that much more exciting.

The app is sleek and easy to use, and finding the event you want to bet on only take a couple of seconds.

The odds on Betr are provided by Simplebet and are very competitive with most sportsbooks on the market.

The company is hoping to cash in on Paul’s large social media presence. In fact, it’s forming ties to other social media stars as well. Ahead of its Massachusetts launch, Betr signed Haley and Hanna Cavinder to an exclusive media partnership.
